For the first time we will be running an event that focuses on embodied experiences with a focus on Live Action Roleplay, and how to design them.

We are inviting you to join in on learning how to create experiences that can be designed not only as entertainment, but also to provoke and bring attention outward onto world issues, or inward onto the definition of identity.
Live Action Roleplay are games where the players embody the characters and emotions the game focuses on. We will dive into a wide variety of mechanics, theories, and game types (for example Black Box, Semi-live, and more traditional LARP) to support the experience design you want to work with. We have also planned example games to give you a feel of the different formats you can work with.
At this event you will work in a group to create your very own embodied experience, that you can carry home with you and share in your local community.
Event Date
The event will take place from: November 24th 2025 – December 3rd 2025 (November 24th is the day of arrival and December 3rd is the day of departure).
Event Location
We have chosen to book a scout’s cabin near Blåvand and the western coast of Denmark, where we will the facilities to host our variety of different experiences. Not far from the location is an old II World War bunker Tirpitz that we will visit, to see how they have used lights and atmospheric design to stage the old museum.

Do I need to have experience?
In short: No.
A longer answer: We have designed the event to include example games to build upon your experience with live-action roleplaying games and the various mechanics used for such games. Because of that, you don’t need experience with any live-action roleplaying games prior to the event. However, having tried to play a role in some form of context, may it be theatre or tabletop games, or harbouring an interest in such things, will improve the learning experience of the event.
Who can apply?
You should be 18 years old (we do have some spots available for age dispensation down to 16 years) and no older than 30. We also have a special slot for a groupleader without age restictions, but with that type comes some expectations. We can only accept participants from the countries listed below:
Denmark
Finland
Estonia
Italy
Germany
All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the coordination team. The best applications will be chosen and both the accepted and rejected applicants will be notified.
We aim to close the first round of applications by October the 15th and you will be notified no later than October the 20th
What about accommodation and food?
We will stay at the scout’s cabin, where we have kitchens, bathrooms, and beds with bedding at our disposal. We will cook our own meals as a group.
There will be a zero-alcohol tolerance, but we are happy to announce that we have been able to get a location that is wheelchair friendly within budget.
What about sightseeing and resting?
During the event we will spend some time outside, visiting locations that can inspire us. We expect you to be present and on time at all workshops, but you will have plenty of free time (however, you are responsible for getting enough sleep!). We will also have a free afternoon which you can use to explore the surroundings on your own or to rest and recover.
Included in the event are:
- Flights from your home country and an airport in your area (might not be the closest one since we need to take cheap flights for everyone to stay within the budget)
- Accommodation in Denmark
- Food and drinks
- Entry fees for places we visit together
- Travels within Denmark
Event fee:
- 40 Euros for Dragon Legion Members
- 50 Euros for non-members
Funding

The event is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union that supports intercultural exchange of young people. This allows us to cover most parts of the travel costs and accommodation costs for the participants.
Why does the event have a fee if it gets funding?
We have a very tight budget, and we would love to pay for everyone, but we simply can’t. With the fees of 40 € / 50 € we can pay for the budget overrun so that we don’t end up paying extra for the event. We think this is a good price for a week of cultural exchange and learning including food, accommodation, materials and travel. If you cannot afford the fee but still want to participate, please give a statement about it in your application. We know there are bad situations in some countries right now and we want to make sure that everyone has the chance to be part of this event, so we decided to have 1-2 slots for free for those who really need them. Please don’t abuse this. We cover the travel costs for the flight, the travel from the airport to our location, lodging, food and drinks and any group activities. You just need to take care of your travel to the airport in your home country.
Who is organizing the event?
The people behind this event are active members of the Dragon Legion, people who are interested in cultural exchange, creating innovative events, and role-playing games. We are all volunteers who organize this in our free time.
Will there be more events of this type?
We certainly hope so. We are currently working on different plans. If you are from a country that is not eligible at the moment you could get in touch with us and help us open up the next event for your country as well. Contact email: info@dragon-legion.com
Need more information?
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. Just send us an email: info [at] dragon-legion.com. Once we have received and checked your application you will get a confirmation email. You can submit your application below. We need to ask you for your personal data to present statistics to the EU which funds the youth exchange. We will only use your data for anonymous statistics, we won’t give it to anyone else. We need your email to contact you. Please be aware that we have a limited number of slots, and we might have to reject you if there are too many applications.
